The Electrical Shop members are particularly gratified with their involvement in energy-saving projects. In 2009, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) published a major update to its electrical safety codes called NFPA 70E. The standard covers the full range of electrical safety issues, including safety-related work practices, maintenance, special equipment requirements, and installation. Following these standards helps ensure continued high standards of excellence serving the Campus.
The Electrical Shop includes:

Install energy-efficient lighting and occupancy sensors for indoor lighting

Maintain the Campus emergency electrical system, including generators and inverters

Maintain the Campus lighting system, including street lights, parking lot lights, walkways, and building lights

Provide electrical construction services for the Campus
